The new industry trade group Keighley-Made has been launched with the aim of improving communication and collaboration between local businesses. We were asked to become a member of the new group and are delighted to get involved with an organisation that promotes the long-established manufacturing sector in Keighley.
Key Objectives for Keighley Made
Establish the Board
The board will be responsible for outlining the group’s vision and governance. Appointed from a broad cross-section of business and community organisations, board members will establish the programme of cooperation and collaboration. Regular board and member meetings will be scheduled.
Engage the Town
Education is a priority, with the aim to improve connections between businesses and the town’s schools and colleges with the aim of identifying and nurturing talent. Ideas include outreach programmes in schools and the establishment of a Keighley Apprentice Board with representation from young employees.
Attract Outside Investment
By operating as a lobbyist for the town, the group will aim to promote a forward-looking and capable Keighley both locally and to a much wider audience. The upshot will ideally be more outside investment and an improved perception of the town.
While it's early days for the trade group, it's being led by Paul Moore, whose passion for the town is the driving force behind the new project. We wish him every success and will be glad to be involved in any way we can.
